Equipment Service
Is your equipment in tip-top shape? We can service it!
Bring your equipment to Underwater Adventures and let our trained, experienced, and certified repair technicians get you and your gear back in the water. Our staff members are experts at spotting and correcting problems before they turn into life threatening accidents. Remember your regulator, alternate air source, and gauges are your LIFE-SUPPORT system underwater and should be maintained regularly by a company you trust, Underwater Adventures!
We suggest an annual service every year or 100 dives, and definitely before major dive trips where repair may not be available.
If it’s used heavily, you should consider more frequent service. Part of our job is to help you decide what works best for your equipment, diving frequency, and budget.
We can service almost any major brand of equipment including:
Atomic, Aqualung, Apeks, Diverite, Mares, Oceanic, ScubaPro, Sherwood, Suunto, and Zeagle and more.
Visual inspections should be performed yearly. For Cylinders older than June of 1988, we use Visual Plus software to electronically analyze your valve threads for cracks naked to the human eye. We thoroughly inspect the internal and external parts of the tank for corrosion, pitting, gouges, cracks, or contamination. We can also clean the insides if contamination is found. Visual inspection turnaround is about 1-3 days, and includes the air fill and new o-rings for the valves too.
Cylinders should be hydrostatically tested every 5 years. Hydro turnaround time is about 3-5 days, and includes visual inspection (VIP), neck and valve o-rings, and air fill.
Cylinder valves are tested at time of VIP, but they should be serviced and overhauled at every hydrostatic inspection. If your valves leak, we can repair most current models.
We do a pressurized immersion test to detect leaks, check for smooth operation of all components, inspect the filter, mouthpieces, diaphragms, and hoses for any tears, cracks, corrosion, or holes. We will also check and adjust the regulator’s intermediate pressure, if needed. During this routine service, we will also replace and/or lubricate items such as the Analog Instruments HP swivel o-rings, second stage swivel o-rings, low pressure seats, and other annual replacements.
For regulators not under a manufacturer’s warranty, this is a good way for us to determine a cost-effective plan for your regulator’s maintenance and performance.
We recommend an Annual Service every year or 100 dives. Definitely inspect your equipment before major dive trips where repair may not be available. If it’s used heavily or stored for long periods of time, you should consider more frequent service. Our repair technicians will pressure test and inspect the BCD and Power Inflation Device or Integrated Regulator. If you have an Integrated Regulator on your BCD we ask that you bring in your Primary Regulator at the same time to insure proper adjustments can be made during service. If needed, we will disassemble the second stage, clean all parts, replace and lubricate o-rings and seats with genuine manufacturer’s parts kits, and reassemble. It will then be tested and adjusted to perfect manufacturer’s specifications, then immersion tested for complete accuracy. If your Power Inflation Device is “auto-flating” or not holding pressure, we will service or replace it and immersion test your BC again.
Check your Manufacturer’s Warranties and keep track of services as some include free parts during annual service, as long as regular maintenance has occurred.
We can change most computer batteries, and arrange for Non-User Replaceable Computers to be serviced by the manufacturer.
We recommend annual service on your Analog Instruments as well to keep them working correctly. It’s included in the annual service or pressure test of your Regulators.
